Early spring colour at Kew

I've been to Kew a few times now, but I'm feeling like I have just started to get to know it.It's so big and has so many different parts, every time I visit I discover something new.

The first visit was all about the Palm House, which is stunning and steamy and worth the trip alone, but as I gain confidence and leave the paths to explore, you are always rewarded with new discoveries and there is no better time to do that than spring.

I was expecting to fall for the tulip displays and blossom, but actually it was the Rhodedendrums that really did it for me. Rhodedendrum Dell is at the far opposite of the main entrance and a relatively hidden path of flowery goodness that runs parallel to the river. Plus, behind the Dell is a small calming woodland where I found stretches of wild garlic and cows parsley. When I go round a garden I often choose the views but these shots are all about the colours. There are some tulips displays behind Kew Palace and the Cherry Walk that give you all the feelings, but the photos don't really do them justice.
